and accommodation for elderly persons who for a variety of reasons are
no longer able to remain in their own home. Neilston aims to provide all
the service users with a home where they can live with dignity and safety
in comfortable surroundings. The proprietors undertake to ensure the service
users' medical, social, and emotional needs are identified and catered
for in a sensitive manner. Staff are on duty day and night to afford continuity
of care for the service users. All staff employed in the home are
required to have previous experience and qualifications. The staff are
also encouraged to undergo further training to update their knowledge
and skills.
Medical
Care
Service users are able to retain their existing doctor if they wish and
the doctor is agreeable. Alternatively service users may register with
a GP of their choice from a local practice. The home maintains regular
contact with specialist health care workers so that service users can
receive specialist attention if required. The services of a dentist, optician
and chiropodist can be provided within the Home or at local practices.
Catering
Service users are provided with a varied well balanced and nutritious
diet. Provision can be made for persons who require a special diet for
medical, social, cultural, religious or other reason. Clients are encouraged
to make suggestions for meals to be included in the Home's menu plan.

All service users are accommodated in single rooms that are equipped with
en-suite facilities. A well appointed lounge is available for clients'
use at all times. A stair lift is installed for the safety and comfort

have been specially adapted for use by persons who may have difficulty
with bathing. The property is surrounded by a large level garden which
service users can access at all times. The ground floor dining room has

Other Services
A hairdresser visits weekly and chiropodist comes every month for those
clients who wish to use their services.
